What's inside this
months issue
Ryan Howard checks in with Baseball Youth
magazine to talk about his life growing up and his rise to stardom in
the major leagues. Philadelphia was just one of the many stops the
Baseball Youth Road Trip made during the summer as kids all over the
United States had a blast playing the Baseball Card Challenge. In
addition to these great features, the Cal Ripken World Series champs
from Hilo, Hawaii are highlighted, and there’s also a poster of
seven-time Cy Young recipient Roger Clemens. |

Ryan Howard’s big smile, even
bigger home runs are giving kids a new baseball hero
Growing up, Philadelphia’s
slugging first baseman Ryan Howard collected baseball cards of his
favorite stars, Griffey, Bonds and Gwynn. These days it’s his card kids
across the nation are begging to get their hands on.
In his
sixth year with the Phillies organization, Howard has risen from a top
prospect, to the 2005 Rookie of the Year, to an All-Star who will be
talked about for the Most Valuable Player award in the National League
this year.
