JULY / AUGUST 2006 ISSUE

What's inside this months issue

Below are just some of the features you will find inside Baseball Youth magazine’s Spring 2006 issue. Sean Casey may have switched teams going from the Cincinnati Reds to the Pittsburgh Pirates, but he has not lost that friendly attitude he takes to the park everyday. Also, Cal and Bill Ripken have tons of baseball knowledge in both their heads, and they want to share it with you. There’s also information on an MLB Kids Club, the 2006 NCAA Champion Oregon State Beavers, and Baseball Youth’s list of the 20 most recognized players in the major leagues today. Don’t forget the Ken Griffey, Jr. poster as well.

Class Act: Why Sean Casey is Baseball's Mr. Nice Guy

He has been called one of the classiest guys in Major League Baseball, and for good reason. Now the Pittsburgh Pirates’ Sean Casey gives Baseball Youth Readers some insight into his early days in baseball, his community work, and his pre at-bat ritual.

We caught up with Casey on a rainy April 7 in Cincinnati where the Pirates were visiting the Reds for the second of a four-game series. (click here to read more of the story)

The Ripkens share their baseball knowledge

Cal and Bill Ripken teach readers how to generate momentum by using their bodies to make stronger, more accurate throws on the diamond. The Ripkens highlight a drill to help young baseball players become better. (click here to read more of the story)
