National News: Louisville Slugger Unveils New TPX Omaha Bat
February 01, 2010
Limited edition black-on-black design hits retail stores Feb. 15
Known for its durability and championship performance, the TPX Omaha has become perhaps the most successful baseball bat model ever at the collegiate level. Since its introduction in 1999, thousands of hitters have played with the CB95 Omaha bat, including 39 College World Series teams and six national champions.
The 2010 version will prove to be no exception. For the first time, the Omaha will feature a distinctive black-on-black design coupled with the same record-setting performance for which the bat is famous. Manufactured from ST+20 alloy, the strongest alloy in the bat industry today, the CB95 Omaha measures 31 to 34 inches and has a 2-5/8 inch barrel.
The Youth Baseball (YB) versions of the new Omaha bat will be introduced in May during Louisville Slugger’s annual College World Series program. The YB version will include the same black-on-black graphics as the CB95, and it will be a -13.5 bat with a length of 27-32 inches.
