SPRINGBORO, OH -
TOUR STOP
July 19, 2006
We’re
into our third state of the Baseball Youth Road Trip, and we’re just
getting started. This time we ventured into Ohio and the town of
Springboro for the National Amateur Baseball
Federation World Series.
Earlier
in the tour we were in Hopkinsville, Ky., for another NABF event, and
this one was just as great as the first one. There was plenty of open
space and green grass for us to set up our area, and before we were even
ready players and fans gathered around to see what all the excitement
was about.
A New
York team even stopped by for the Baseball Card Challenge and some free
prizes before they headed out to get ready to see their Mets take on the
nearby Cincinnati Reds. We also got to hang out with other cool teams
from the Cincinnati area, Indiana and Michigan.
Our Ken
Griffey, Jr. and Adam Dunn cards were pretty popular today, but someone
even walked away with a Pedro Martinez game-used jersey Fleer card. One
day it was David Ortiz, now it’s Pedro. Who’s it going to be next?
I guess
we’ll have to wait and see if some lucky person gets a valuable card at
the Florence Freedom game tonight or at the next event in Cincinnati.
