RALEIGH, NC - TOUR
STOP
August 10, 2006
As
we make our way north for the Baseball Youth Road Trip, we had plenty of
time to visit the Carolina MudCats
and the beautiful Five County Stadium. Carolina’s big catfish mascot,
Muddy, is one of the most recognizable in all of Minor League Baseball.
We
did our best to steal some of Muddy’s thunder and get some kids over to
our zone in the stadium’s concourse. I think we succeeded for the most
part. Kids lined up to play the Baseball Card Challenge, and we had a
blast before and during the game.
A
group of youth baseball players from outside Raleigh, N.C., were the
first ones through when the gates open and they spotted the Road Trip
trailer immediately. By the time the baseball game really got rolling,
parents were having a hard time pulling their kids away so they could
find their seats.
Baseball fans around the Raleigh area really are lucky to have a first
class professional stadium. Too bad there was not a doubleheader so we
could have enjoyed the facility even more.
