PAINTSVILLE, KY -
TOUR STOP
July 17 & 18, 2006
After two stops in baseball lovin’ Kentucky, the Road Trip had time for
one more before we made our way into Ohio. This time we were guests at
the Little League Baseball Kentucky State
Tournament in Paintsville.
Last
year’s Kentucky State Champion and Little League World Series participant
Owensboro Southern was back for another run at a title, and the players even
had a little time to try their luck at our Baseball Card Challenge. We
quickly found out they knew more than just how to play baseball.
Winners
had the chance to win our cool prizes, and this time around we had packs of
Fleer cards and Baseball Youth Road Trip trading pins to give away. Someone
even walked away with a David Ortiz game-used jersey card. Unbelievable.
This
may have been our busiest stop yet, but we’ll have to see how some of the
next cities do in challenging Paintsville. It was great to hang out with so
many players from the best teams in Kentucky. Hopefully, we’ll see one of
the teams again when we head to Williamsport, Pa., for the Little League
World Series.
