FLORENCE, KY - TOUR
STOP
July 19, 2006
After
several youth events in Tennessee, Kentucky and Ohio it was time to try
our hand at some professional baseball. We went to Champion Window
Field, home of the Florence Freedom,
and had our biggest crowd yet.
Usually,
we just have about six participants per every round of our Baseball Card
Challenge. This time we had to have as many as 12 just to get everyone
involved as quickly as possible.
We were
set up on the third base side next to a kid’s area, and it couldn’t have
been a better place for us. Luckily, no one was hit by a foul ball since
everyone was consumed with the game.
The
Freedom put on a show for the fans putting up seven runs in their half
of the first inning. Their opponent, the Kalamazoo Kings, could not make
a comeback as the Freedom took the series’ final game 9-3.
It was
great to check out some Minor League Baseball while we were in the
Cincinnati area. The fans seemed like they had a blast hanging out with
the Baseball Youth Road Trip and watching a Freedom victory. It can’t
get much better than that.
